“Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope.” – Maya Angelou

My own mother is reflected in those words by Maya Angelou. I have to believe that the divine timing of my birth along with her name on a list to receive the next baby born, was divinely timed, the Universes’ plan.

She hoped for a child, jumped hurdles with her own struggles of not conceiving, leaped fences as my father’s mother judged her, and penetrated walls as she brought me home to my dad who completely fell in love as we became a family of only us three.

Hope, it was our destination, just as a Mother’s Love is eternal.

A Mother does not have to give birth to you to be your mother. Mother’s come to us in many different ways throughout our lives. Mother’s who give birth, Mother’s who adopt another woman’s child, Mother’s who foster, Mother’s who mentor, A mother can be someone who loves you just because they love you, Mother’s who nurture animals instead of humans, Mother’s who simply show up to help you through a struggle. All along asking for nothing in return.

All women are mothers in some way, for we are female, capable of naturally birthing and nurturing new life, new ideas, new thoughts, into being.

So to all of the Momma’s, in whatever capacity you mother, I wish for you a day filled with intense feelings of the love that you have given throughout your life, returned right back to you, at your heart’s center… ten-fold.

Loving you today,
Nicole
